It’s one thing to be a nail tech, but it’s another thing to be a nail tech at The W Nail Bar! Top quality manicures and pedicures are kind of our thing (no harsh chemicals here!), and we’re all about a warm, comforting environment for our community. Turns out, people really love that, including our nail techs! We don’t mean to brag, but we love what we do here, and we can’t keep the secret any longer. That’s why we sat down with one of our amazing employees, Jaycie Gatts, to get the 411.

How long have you been working at The W? I have been with The W Nail Bar for almost four years. What made you decide to join us? In other words, what sealed the deal to make you want to work here over any other nail salon? I knew I wanted to work at The W Nail Bar when I walked in and the ambiance was different from any salon I had ever walked into, and I wasn’t greeted with an overwhelming smell of chemicals caused by acrylics. Being a nail tech sounds like a dream. When did you know you wanted to be one? I knew I wanted to be a nail tech my entire life. I’ve gotten my nails done ever since I was little and my sister and I would sit in the kitchen and polish our nails and do nail art every day. It sealed the deal when she went to cosmetology school and brought home her nail kit. I had a frenzy with all of her “real” nail products. What do you love most about working here? What I love most about working at The W is that I get to polish my friends’ nails every day right next to girls I consider sisters. My clients have become some of my best friends. Favorite nail color. Go! R.E.D, more specifically “the thrill of Brazil” by OPI. It can be sexy, sophisticated or whatever you want it to be AND it looks good on everyone! What’s the most common question/nail dilemma your clients ask you? How do you respond? “Will gel ruin my nails?” No, babes! If gel is applied correctly and removed properly by us every time, you won’t have damage! Don’t forget, electric files should NEVER be used on your natural nail bed. ------ A huge thank you to Jaycie for telling her W Nail Bar love story! Interested in becoming one of us?
